WHAT IS AIR POLLUTION?
Air pollution refers to fine particles, gases or chemicals released into the air by modern urban living. Not just a problem for big cities, poor air quality can also affect rural or industrial areas - impacting our overall health and skin more than we may realise.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR MY SKIN?
Many air pollutants are considerably smaller than the size of your pores, making it fairly easy for them to penetrate your skin where they can become trapped and lead to ongoing damage. Prolonged exposure to free-radicals and environmental aggressors can result in an uneven, dull skin tone, premature skin ageing* or pigment spots.
That's why it's so important to maintain natural skin health and protect your body's largest organ from harmful environmental influences.

WHAT ABOUT SENSITIVE SKIN?
When it comes to sensitive skin, its natural protective barrier has to work extra hard to ward off harmful pollutants - making it especially important for people with sensitive skin to protect themselves from air pollution.
Air pollution may manifest in sensitive skin as redness, itching or dry spots. Although it can be tempting to dial up your skin routine as a solution, excessive scrubbing when cleansing your face or using aggressive ingredients can lead to further irritation.
That's why we created the CARA line to arm sensitive skin with extra care and protection, using plenty of strengthening yet gentle - and of course, natural - ingredients!
